Weekly Update: GMS 2.3.0


Hey guys, so good news and bad news.

Good news is Game Maker Studio (the engine I am using) has updated to 2.3.0, this brings a few great improvements including sequences which will help me do cut-scenes, animations and bosses. I have really been waiting for this functionality to get started on these elements as it adds a timeline and a lot of tools that fit more into my skill set.

Also I was able to update the project to the new version... but not completely which brings us to the bad news.

Bad News is the lighting engine just did not convert over at all. So this week has been me pulling out the old light engine and working on a new one, see above work in progress. I think as of right now I not only have all the old code out but I am starting to implement the new code where applicable.

So in the end not much that is actually new to see but there is a chance this will actually reduce lag in the long run which is a plus and once I am done with all this back end stuff I can get into the sequences and start designing the first boss battle.
